Pesarattu Dosa
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole green gram (moong dal)
- 1/4 cup rice
- 1 green chili
- 1-inch piece of ginger
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Handful of fresh coriander leaves
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- Oil for cooking
Instructions:
Step 1: Soak the green gram and rice together in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Step 2: Drain the water and blend the soaked green gram, rice, green chili, ginger, salt, cumin seeds, and coriander leaves into a smooth batter. Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed.
Step 3: Heat a dosa griddle or non-stick pan. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the center and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
Step 4: Sprinkle chopped onions on the dosa's surface and drizzle some oil around the edges.
Step 5: Cook until the edges start to lift, and the bottom turns golden brown.
Step 6: Flip the dosa and cook the other side briefly. Fold it in half or roll it as per your preference.
Step 7: Repeat the process for the remaining batter.
Step 8: Serve hot with coconut chutney or your favorite accompaniment. Enjoy the wholesome goodness of Pesarattu Dosa!
