Warm Green Beans Salad with Walnuts

Tasty green beans salad with walnuts and garlic will perfectly come as lunch or light dinner and decorate your holiday table. It is suitable to cook while fast if avoid using butter to fry onion. You can replace it with seed or oil one. It is quite nutritious due to nuts and beans which are rich in protein.

Ingredients

  • Green beans
    200 g
  • Onion
    1 pcs
  • Garlic
    2 clove
  • Walnuts
    50 g
  • Olive oil
    50 ml
  • Butter
    20 g
  • Lemon juice
    1 tsp
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Black pepper
    - to taste
  • Parsley
    - to taste



Steps

  • 1. Wash green beans and cut out their ends. Pour them over with some cold water and cook for 5 minutes until boil. Drain them with a collander from hot water. You can cook frozen french beans without unfreezing them.
  • 2. Peel an onion and cut it into half-rings.
  • 3. Combine oil and butter in a frying pan. Stirring it, saute onion on a low heat until soft and golden brown.
  • 4. Then add pressed garlic to onion. Keep on cooking vegetables for another one-two minutes on a low heat.
  • 5. Chop walnut cores with a knife or ground them with a rolling pin to make nut pieces not very small.
  • 6. Add chopped walnuts to the vegetables.
  • 7. After this, pour boiled french beans into the frying pan. Add some lemon juice, salt and black pepper to taste.
  • 8. Mix all that and keep on cooking these ingredients for another few minutes to make beans soak with garlic and spices flavour.
  • 9. Serve the salad warm having decorated it with a parsley sprig.
