Strawberry granite
Granite is a Sicilian dessert representing a crushed fruit ice with sugar. Possible ingredients are lemon or orange juice, pistachios, almonds, coffee, mint,
jasmine, seasonal berries as well.
Here you may use absolutely different ingredients that can go together. Namely, it can be fruits and berries that have a dense structure, for instants, raspberry and mango. That is exactly why granite has more dense structure than sherbets and fruit ice.
Ingredients
-
Strawberry300 g
-
Watermelon100 g
-
Lemon juice2 tbsp
-
Sugar3 tbsp
-
Water100 ml
Steps
-
1. All you need is to combine ingredients in blender in a homogeneous puree. Lemon juice accentuates strawberry, if you use another berry – do not add lemon. I added watermelon for its characteristic pleasant smell. You may take frozen berries, but fresh ones are tastier.
-
2. Pour prepared puree in a cold-resistant capacity and put into the freezer. You need to take the capacity out each 40-70 minutes and mix it well with a fork. In the very beginning, only edges will congeal, then the center. In the end, you will get dense cold mass. Leave it in the freeze.
-
3. Take off the granite from the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving and impose an ice mass with folk. It is very delicious and cool. Here there are much less calories than in ice cream, and you will get even more pleasure. Feel free to experiment with pineapples and any favorite fruits.
