Chocolate Сake Guinness

Are you starting to prepare for Valentine’s day, all lovers’ day or just to 14th February? I am holding on to the opinion that the best present is the one that you make yourself (at least, for this lovely day). I want to spend this day with my loved ones and make them happy. When I thought about what is being cooked on this day and on holidays in general, I realized that more often it is some kind of classic desserts like tiramisu, panna cotta or Charlotte cake. But how much sometimes do you want to surprise yourself and others? Therefore, here's a recipe for an insanely chocolate and an equally strange cake on Guinness beer.

  • Guinness (dark beer)
    125 ml
  • Butter
    110 g
  • Sugar
    125 g
  • Brown sugar
    75 g
  • Cacao
    110 g
  • Egg
    1 pcs
  • Sour cream
    75 g
  • Whole wheat flour
    225 g
  • Baking soda
    1/4 tsp

  • 1. At first, mix beer and butter in a saucepan. Cut it for as small cubes as possible. Slowly mix it on a slow fire until 3/4 of butter is melted. Take away from fire. Is it about butter, chocolate or something else melting – then never wait for all mass to be homogeneous as it takes more time to wait for it, and then it takes more time to cool it down. We will do wiser: hold on until most portion of butter is melted and left portion will melt itself, and besides all mass will start cooling down that is exactly what we need – ingredients are mixed better when they have similar temperature.
  • 2. While the mixture is cooling down, prepare an egg one. Beat the egg in a bowl until it turns white and becomes more magnificent. Then add sour cream and gently mix until smooth.
  • 3. Put a bowl away. Put cacao, sugar in oil mixture and mix well with sputum.
  • 4. Add egg mass in the resulting mixture and mix well.
  • 5. Add flour and baking soda in almost prepared dough (pre-mix them in a cup).
  • 6. Mix it well with sputum until homogeneous.
  • 7. Put the dough in the mold. It is very dense and viscous so that to level it in the mold use the same sputum. Bake at 170 degrees for 30-40 minutes. From the given ingredients one cake is obtained in the form of 16-18 cm. As always check willingness with a toothpick. Let a prepared cake to cool down in a mold and then take it out.
  • 8. The cake is very dense but soft as well. Of course, there is no alcohol in it – it is evaporated at high temperatures but leaves malt notes in a cake that combine in good harmony with chocolate taste. This cake is so easy in preparation and ingredients are available so that you should definitely please your loved ones with this one. For today – this is my favorite one.
