Lentil Soup by Jamie Olivera

I recently found a very good recipe for soup with lentils from a friend of all Jamie Oliver. It cooked very quickly and incredibly delicious, it is still good when all the ingredients play their part for the common good. The soup is quite thick. In the scents play notes of smoked bacon and soft lentils, and the spices here help uncover the tastes.

Ingredients

  • Lentil
    250 g
  • Red onion
    1 pcs
  • Carrot
    1 pcs
  • Bacon
    200 g
  • Olive oil
    30 ml
  • Garlic
    2 clove
  • Chile
    2 pcs
  • Turmeric
    1 tsp
  • Cumin
    1 tsp
  • Chicken broth
    1.5 l

Steps

  • 1. First of all, soak lentils for a couple of minutes and rinse well.
  • 2. At this time, prepare the roast. Finely chop the onions, carrots and bacon.
  • 3. Heat the olive oil in a deep saucepan and fry the carrots, onions and bacon for about 10 minutes.
  • 4. While the vegetables are baking with bacon, chop garlic and chili very finely. As usually remember, if the seeds are left, the soup will be sharper and vice versa.
  • 5. Add the chopped garlic and pepper into the pan. Also add there cumin and turmeric. Stir well, you will see how the vegetables are immediately colored. Then add the whole broth. There is absolutely no difference between chicken or meat, or you can just add boiled water.
  • 6. As soon as the broth begins to boil, reduce the fire to medium and add lentils. Periodically remove the foam. You need to cook for another 20 minutes. Soup is ready.
  • 7. Like many dishes of Jamie Oliver, lentil soup is very fragrant and quite rich in flavors. Perhaps bacon helps, perhaps a set of spices does, or a combination of them. In any case, the soup is saturated in all senses.
