Homemade Pizza Margarita

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour
    3-4 tbsp
  • Water
    260 ml
  • Olive oil
    3 tbsp
  • Active dry yeast
    2 tsp
  • Salt
    2/3 tsp
  • Sugar
    1 tsp
  • Mozzarella cheese
    200 g
  • Tomato
    3 pcs
  • Garlic
    2-3 clove
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Black pepper
    - to taste
  • Oregano
    0.5 tsp
  • Basil
    - to taste
  • Olive oil
    3 tbsp

Steps

  • 1. First, make the dough. Combine warm water, granulated sugar and dry yeast in deep dishes. Stir the mixture so that the dry ingredients are completely dissolved in water. Leave the dough for 15 minutes in a warm place to activate the yeast.
  • 2. Then add 2 cups of sifted wheat flour mixed with fine salt to the dough. Stir the dough thoroughly to make it homogeneous.


  • 3. Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the dough. Mix everything thoroughly once again so that the oil is completely combined with the other ingredients.
  • 4. Gradually adding the remaining sifted flour to the mixture, knead the soft, elastic pizza dough.


  • 5. Grease the finished dough with a small amount of olive oil, cover it with a dry towel and leave for 1 hour in a warm place. During this time, the dough should infuse and come up.
  • 6. While the dough is coming up, make the pizza sauce. Wash two fresh tomatoes, cut off the stalks. Cut the tomatoes several pieces, put them in the blender bowl and grind to a uniform consistency.
  • 7. Transfer the chopped tomatoes into a ladle or frying pan with high sides. Add olive oil and mix thoroughly. Put the frying pan on a slow fire and, stirring occasionally, cook the tomato sauce with olive oil until thick.
  • 8. When the sauce evaporates a little and becomes thick, add salt, dried oregano and black pepper to it. For sharpness, add garlic cloves passed through a press. Stir the sauce thoroughly again, then remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  • 9. When the dough comes up, once again thoroughly knead it with your hands.
  • 10. Divide the dough into several parts. From the specified number of ingredients, I got 4 thin pizzas with a diameter of 24 cm. Roll the dough into a thin layer using a rolling pin.
  • 11. Grease the pizza base with tomato sauce.
  • 12. On top distribute the leaves of fresh green basil. Greens should be pre-washed and dried.
  • 13. Spread mozzarella slices on top.
  • 14. Next, put fresh tomato cut thin slices on pizza.
  • 15. Put the pizza in the oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake it at an average level for 15-18 minutes. When the sides of the pizza are browned, gently take it out of the oven. Cut the finished pizza portions, decorate with basil leaves and serve hot.
