Mackerel Roll with Bacon

Offer you an original way to cook mackerel in the oven. This time we’ll bake it as roll with smoked pork bacon. As a result we get very tasty, juicy and fragrant fish. Thanks to spectacular presentation such dish can be perfect for festive table. For side dish can be crumbly rice, potato puree, fresh vegetables or pickles.

Ingredients

  • Mackerel
    2 pcs
  • Bacon
    100 g
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Olive oil
    1 tbsp
  • Parsley
    - to taste
  • Dill
    - to taste



Steps

  • 1. Defreeze mackerel at a room temperature, carefully wash it with tap water. Cut off the fish’s head, remove inside and black thin layer. Cut mackerel along carcass into two parts, and leave the tail whole. Carefully remove the bones.
  • 2. Salt mackerel fillet, flavour with black pepper and seasoning for fish.
  • 3. Smoked bacon cut into very thin slices. Put the slices onto two half of fish fillet.
  • 4. Moving from head to tail, carefully roll the half of fish fillet with bacon. Fix the roll with a wooden skewer.
  • 5. In same way roll the second half of fish fillet.
  • 6. Grease ovenware with oliveу oil. Put our half-made product into it.
  • 7. Put the mackerel rolls with smoked bacon into oven preheated up to 180 degrees. Bake them for 20-25 minutes until golden crust.
  • 8. Serve ready-made mackerel hot with vegetables and greens. Before serving carefully remove wooden skewers.
