Crab Sticks and Processed Cheese Tartlets

In the new year of the Pig, I suggest making the original snack in tartlets in the form of lovely pigs. As a basis, we will use salad from the cut crab sticks, processed cheese, and eggs. It is tasty, simple and quickly to make – it’s what is necessary for a holiday table. For the recipe we will use tartlets from shortcrust pastry or puff pastry, it can be prepared independently or bought ready-made in shop.

  • 1. Boil hard eggs, cool completely, shell and grate largely.
  • 2. Grate largely processed cheese and add to the grated eggs.
  • 3. Previously let’s defreeze crab sticks, remove the packing, grate and add to other ingredients.
  • 4. Dress the salad with a small amount of mayonnaise and mix to homogeneous consistence.
  • 5. Let's make walnut size balls from salad and lay them out in tartlets from shortcrust pastry.
  • 6. Now it is necessary to decorate tartlets. For a decor let’s cut green olives into halves and cut black olives into thin rings. The salami cut into a quarter rings. Let’s make pig’s snout of sausage, using a cocktail straw.
  • 7. Decorate snack tartlets, imitating pigs. From salami let’s make ears, from black olives - eyes, from sausages - pig’s snout, and from green olives and fresh greenery - a hat. Serve a ready-made snack right after preparation.
