Chicken Oat Flakes Soup

Let’s cook easy, fragrant and healthy oat flakes soup for lunch. As a basis we will use chicken broth. For soup to be richer, use chicken thighs for broth. Boiled meat can be separated from bones, cut on pieces and returned to soup or added to portion plates before serving. If you cook soup for the kids or dietary menu, it is better to add onions and carrots to broth uncooked, without any browning.

Steps

  • 1. Wash chicken fillet, clean from fat and foams. Shift meat in a pan and fill in with two liters of cold water. Cover a pan and put it on fire. Let's bring water to boiling, remove the foam with a skimmer and continue to cook chicken broth for 30 minutes. Then remove boiled chicken fillet from ready broth.
  • 2. Wash potatoes, peel and cut with bars. Let's put the cut tubers in the boiling chicken broth.
  • 3. Meanwhile let’s prepare other vegetables. Peel and cut with cubes onion. Lay out the cut onions on a frying pan with the pre-heated vegetable oil. Stirring slowly brown vegetables till a light golden.
  • 4. Then add grated carrots to onions. Let's mix and continue to fry vegetables together till soft.
  • 5. When potatoes are cooked to semi-readiness, add the browned vegetables to soup.
  • 6. Afterwards let’s add instant oat flakes.
  • 7. Let's boil thoroughly soup on low fire for 7-10 minutes more so that all ingredients are got ready. Several minutes before the end of preparation put into soup cut into cubes red sweet pepper. Let's add salt, seasonings and small cut greenery.
  • 8. Pour ready-made soup in soup plates or soup mugs. Let's add to every portion cut on pieces the boiled chicken fillet. In addition it’s possible to serve whole-grain bread, croutons or garlic toasts.
