Kefir Marinated Chicken

Let’s cook tasty and fragrant chicken legs baked in marinade from kefir for dinner. As well as other dairy products kefir has a large amount of organic acids which soften meat fibers. That is why after marinating chicken turns out very gentle and juicy. The special taste and aroma to a poultry meat are given by fresh greenery, garlic and seasonings. The ready dish can be served with any side dish from vegetables, grain, beans or pasta.

  • Chicken legs
    6 pcs
  • Kefir
    150 ml
  • Vegetable oil
    2 tbsp
  • Garlic
    2-3 clove
  • Seasoning for chicken
    0.5 tsp
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Black pepper
    - to taste
  • Dill
    - to taste
  • Parsley
    - to taste


  • 1. In deep ware connect kefir and passed through a press garlic cloves. Let's add salt, black ground pepper and mix of seasonings for chicken.
  • 2. Greenery of dill and parsley let’s separate from stems, wash, chop small and add to kefir marinade. Let's carefully mix to homogeneous consistence.
  • 3. Wash chicken legs and dry from excess moisture with paper towels. Let's shift meat in deep ware and fill in with marinade so that chicken is completely covered with it. Let's leave chicken legs to marinate at least for 1 hour.
  • 4. On a bottom of a heat resisting ware for roasting pour a small amount of vegetable oil. Let's lay out in the prepared ware marinated chicken legs. Water meat with small amount of marinade.
  • 5. Send chicken legs to the oven warmed up to 180 degrees. Bake meat at the medium level for 30-40 minutes, depending on the sizes of legs. Let's check readiness of chicken by piercing it with a knife blade. If there is clear juice from the meat, it is ready.
  • 6. The baked chicken legs in marinade from kefir let’s serve hot with spicy sauce and fresh vegetables.
