Potato Stuffed with Quail Eggs

Today I will tell you how to make the original holiday dish from the usual boiled potatoes. The idea is so unusual and at the same time simple that even a beginner cook will be able to repeat it. We will bake potatoes with a quail egg filling with cheese crust in the oven. The dish is very tasty, nourishing and fragrant. Such potatoes can be an independent hot dish or serve as a side dish to fish, meat or poultry.

Ingredients

  • Potato
    4 pcs
  • Quail egg
    8 pcs
  • Cheese
    100 g
  • Vegetable oil
    1 tbsp
  • Allspice
    3 pcs
  • Bay leaf
    2 pcs
  • Salt

  • Black pepper
    - to taste



Steps

  • 1. Wash potatoes carefully, transfer to a pan with cold water and put on fire. After water boils let’s add salt, peas of black allspice and bay leaves for aroma to the pan. Cook the potatoes to readiness.
  • 2. Drain water from the ready potatoes. Cool the potatoes to room temperature then cut the vegetables across into two halves. Using a coffee spoon, gently remove the core from the potatoes, forming boats.
  • 3. Put the preparations in a heat-resistant form greased with vegetable oil.
  • 4. In each potato boat let’s break one quail egg, add salt and black ground pepper to taste.
  • 5. Grate hard cheese on a large grater. Put grated cheese on the potato half.
  • 6. Send the vegetables with egg filling to the oven heated to 180 degrees. Bake potatoes with a surprise at the medium level of the oven for 20-25 minutes. During this time, quail eggs should be fully cooked and grated cheese melts and browns.
  • 7. Serve the ready dish in hot form, decorated with finely chopped dill and parsley. Additionally, you can serve spicy ketchup, mushroom or garlic sauce.
