Cottage Cheese Waffles

Let’s prepare the perfect Sunday breakfast - fragrant cottage cheese waffles in an electric waffle maker. They have a crispy crust, but soft on the inside with cottage cheese taste. Pastry turns out considerably sweet, so ready-made waffles can be supplemented with favorite jam, maple syrup or melted chocolate. 16 waffles are received from this amount of ingredients.

  • Cottage cheese
    200 g
  • Butter
    180 g
  • Whole wheat flour
    250 g
  • Sugar
    150 g
  • Egg
    2 pcs
  • Baking powder
    1 tsp
  • Baking soda
    0.25 tsp
  • Vanillin
    1 pinch
  • Corn starch
    50 g
  • Salt
    1 pinch


  • 1. In deep ware let’s combine softened butter, sugar and vanillin. Mix with a mixer to obtain homogeneous light substance.
  • 2. Grate cottage cheese through the sieve.
  • 3. Add cottage cheese to the butter whipped with sugar. Mix with a mixer to connect all the ingredients.
  • 4. Add two chicken eggs to the received mixture. Mix the dough again with the mixer, achieving homogeneous consistence.
  • 5. Then add corn or potato starch, soda, baking powder, a pinch of salt and vanillin to the dough.
  • 6. In several steps add sifted wheat flour into the dough, each time mixing the ingredients until homogeneous consistence.
  • 7. The finished dough should be thick enough and hold on a spoon.
  • 8. Pre-heat the electric waffle maker and grease its sheets with vegetable oil using a cooking brush. Put on sheets one tablespoon of finished cottage cheese dough.
  • 9. Close the electric waffle maker and bake waffles until golden brown. Depending on the power of the electric waffle maker, the cooking time will take 3-5 minutes.
  • 10. Serve the ready cottage cheese waffles with tea or coffee. Fresh pastries can be supplemented with your favorite syrups, toppings, fresh fruits or berries.
