Banana Cake

The banana cake is a delicious and incredibly fragrant home-made pastry. The recipe is so simple that it can be prepared even by a beginner cook. The cake turns out very soft and fluffy, with a golden brown crispy crust on the outside. During the baking process, the banana fibers darken, creating an original pattern on the dough. The pastry with bananas always turns out not only delicious, but also beautiful in cut. At will, ground nuts or pieces of chocolate can be added to the dough.

  • Whole wheat flour
    320 g
  • Sugar
    200 g
  • Banana
    2 pcs
  • Egg
    2 pcs
  • Butter
    120 g
  • Baking powder
    1 tsp
  • Baking soda
    0.5 tsp
  • Vinegar
    1 tsp
  • Salt
    1 pinch
  • Vanillin
    1 pinch


  • 1. In deep dish let’s combine sugar, vanillin, salt and 2 chicken eggs.
  • 2. By means of mixer whip the mixture until obtaining light and fluffy mass.
  • 3. Then add softened butter.
  • 4. Mix the ingredients with a mixer until obtaining a homogeneous mass.
  • 5. Peel two ripe bananas and mash with a fork in puree.
  • 6. Add banana puree to the dough, mix.
  • 7. For the cake to rise well in the oven and turn out fluffy, let’s add to the dough baking powder and soda mixed with vinegar.
  • 8. In several stages add the sifted wheat flour, each time mixing the dough to homogeneous consistence by means of rubber spatula.
  • 9. As a result dough should be thick and homogeneous. Shift it into a heat-resistant form, covered with baking paper and even with rubber spatula.
  • 10. Send a banana cake to a pre-heated up to 170 degrees oven. Bake the cake at a medium level for 50-60 minutes. Check the readiness of pastry with a wooden skewer. It should come out from the cake dry, without any signs of dough.
  • 11. Remove the ready banana cake carefully from the form, cool on a wire rack and decorate with sugar powder. Serve the ready pastries as a dessert for tea or coffee.
