Simple Herring Pate

Pate made of herring is an interesting snack that many hostesses will appreciate for the original taste and quick preparation. A special piquant note of the snack is given by smoked cheese. With it, pate from herring is much tastier than with ordinary processed cheese. The ready snack can be poured on slices of fresh baguette, put with the help of a confectionery bag on crackers, circles of fresh cucumber or boiled potatoes.

  • Herring fillet
    500 g
  • Smoked processed cheese
    150 g
  • Butter
    100 g
  • Carrot
    1 pcs
  • Black pepper
    - to taste


  • 1. Remove the cover from the processed smoked cheese and pass via the mincing machine.
  • 2. Cleaned from bones and a thin skin fillet of a herring let’s also pass via the mincing machine and add to processed cheese.
  • 3. Wash carrots, peel and crush on the smallest grater. Squeeze out the juice from fresh carrots and add the carrot to a salad bowl to other ingredients.
  • 4. Next add the softened butter to the herring pate. Let's season snack with a small amount of black ground pepper.
  • 5. Let's carefully mix, trying to obtain homogeneous consistence of snack.
  • 6. Snack from herring is ready. It is only necessary to cool it in the fridge before serving.
