Bulgur Porridge with Raisins and Nuts

Bulgur can be served not only like a side dish to meat or fish. You can get very tasty sweet dishes from this cereal. For example, sweet bulgur with raisins and nuts is an excellent dish for a healthy and nourishing breakfast. It will fully fill the body with the necessary useful substances for the active working day. Also such a dish will be very useful to cook in the morning to young children.

In addition to raisins and walnuts, sweet bulgur porridge can be supplemented with poppy, sesame and pine nut. As sweetener I use liquid honey.

Ingredients

  • Bulgur
    100 g
  • Water
    300 ml
  • Poppy seeds
    1 tbsp
  • Walnuts
    50 g
  • Sesame seeds
    1 tbsp
  • Raisins
    30 g
  • Liquid honey
    2-3 tbsp
  • Pine nuts
    10 g

Steps

  • 1. Preparation:

Shift the cereal to the pan, pour with water and put it on the fire. After boiling, salt the water, lower the heat, cover the pan with a lid, leaving a small opening for steam.
  • 2. Cook the cereal on minimum heat for the next 20-30 minutes until the liquid evaporates completely. After cooking, cool the bulgur down.
  • 3. Put raisins for 10 minutes in boiling water. After a while, drain the liquid.
  • 4. Mix the cold bulgur with raisins. Cut nuts with a knife on kernels of different sizes and add to the main substance.
  • 5. Then put the poppy and sesame seeds. The poppy can be twisted in advance through a meat grinder or ground in a blender.
  • 6. Fill the mixture with liquid honey, mix thoroughly, and allow to infuse for 30 minutes so that the honey saturates the bulgur well.
  • 7. Fill the porridge with pine nuts during serving.
