Mini Apple Rose Pies

Homemade pastries with apples are always popular. The choice is huge - different pies, buns, charlotte and cakes. Today I propose to prepare delicious rose pies from puff pastry with apples and cinnamon. Pastry is very spectacular, delicious and fragrant. For the roses I used a jam made of gooseberries with orange and lemon, the recipe you can find on the site. At will, it can be replaced with any thick jam or honey.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry
    500 g
  • Apple
    2 pcs
  • Lemon
    0.5 pcs
  • Fruit jam
    2-3 tbsp
  • Whole wheat flour
    2 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar
    1 tbsp
  • Ground cinnamon
    0.5 tsp

Steps

  • 1. Wash apples, cut into halves and remove the seed box. Cut fruit as thin as possible into semi-rings.
  • 2. Transfer finely cut apples to a pan and pour with cold water. Add 1 circle of lemon to the fruit for flavor. Put the pan on the fire, bring it to a boil and cook the apples for 1-2 minutes until soft.
  • 3. Drain hot water from apples. Cast away the fruit on a sieve or a colander and cool down to room temperature.
  • 4. Remove the puff pastry from the fridge in advance so that it unfreezes and becomes elastic. On the working surface dusted with flour, roll the dough into a 2-3 mm thick layer. Cut the dough into long strips 6 cm wide. On one edge of the preparation put a little of thick jam.
  • 5. On top of the jam put apple slices overlapped. For aroma let’s powder fruit with ground cinnamon.
  • 6. Cover the apples with the second half of the dough so that the jam during the baking process does not outflow on the baking sheet.
  • 7. Carefully roll the blanks into a tight roll, forming roses. Put the preparations in a heat-resistant form for baking or on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
  • 8. Bake apple roses from puff pastry at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool the ready pastry to room temperature and decorate with sugar powder.
  • 9. Bon Appetite!
