How to cook Maple Crispy Bacon
Steps
-
1. To prepare this dish, you will need cuts of raw bacon in a vacuum package. You can take any seasonings you like. Do you love spicier? Use ground chili or cayenne pepper. For smoked flavor, add ground smoked paprika. But glaze is responsible for the taste. You need to mix just two ingredients - cognac and maple syrup, and what a rich taste you get in the end.
-
2. Heat the oven to 230 ° C. Line a suitable baking sheet with foil and then with bakery parchment. Thanks to such covering it is not necessary to wash baking sheet after preparation of dish. Put the strips of bacon in one layer on the baking sheet. Put the baking sheet with bacon in the hot oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. After 5-7 minutes, turn the bacon over so that it reddens evenly.
-
3. During this time, the bacon will redden, and most of the fat will dissolve. If there is too much fat, it makes sense to shift the bacon on another baking sheet. If there is a little fat, we move on: let’s apply glaze on each strip of meat with silicone brush and return the baking sheet to the oven again. In 5 minutes get the baking sheet out, turn bacon over and apply the glaze to the other side. Put the baking sheet back in the oven for 5 minutes. Repeat this procedure 2-3 times. Make sure that the sweet glaze does not start burning and, if necessary, slightly reduce the heat of the oven.
-
4. Taking bacon from the oven for the last time, grease it with glaze and seasoning to taste with spices and salt, sprinkling with sesame seeds. Return to bake for another 4-5 minutes and the dish is ready. You may need more or less baking time. Everything depends on the thickness of the slices and on the characteristics of the particular oven. Focus not on time, but on the look of bacon.
