Ingredients

  • Non yeast puff pastry
    500 g
  • Cottage cheese
    400 g
  • Egg
    2 pcs
  • Sugar
    3 tbsp
  • Whole wheat flour
    1-2 tbsp
  • Raisins
    100 g
  • Vanilla sugar
    0.5 tsp
  • Poppy seeds
    1 tbsp

Steps

  • 1. In advance take out non-yeast puff pastry from the fridge so that it unfreezes and becomes elastic. In deep bowl letā€™s connect cottage cheese, sugar and vanilla sugar.
  • 2. Sort raisins, pour with boiling water and leave for 10 minutes. Then drain water from raisins, dry fruits on a paper towel and add to the filling. Add 1 chicken egg to received mixture.
  • 3. Mix the filling thoroughly, achieving homogeneous consistence. If the filling is too liquid, add 1 tablespoon of corn starch or wheat flour.
  • 4. On the working surface dusted with flour, roll unfrozen puff pastry into a rectangular form with thickness of 3-4 mm.
  • 5. On top of the dough letā€™s place a cottage cheese filling, leaving one edge of the dough free for 2 cm. Using a culinary brush, grease a free edge of the dough with a whipped egg so that during baking the puffs with cottage cheese hold the shape well.
  • 6. Carefully roll the preparation by moving towards the filling-free edge. With sharp knife cut the roll into segments with width of 3-4 cm.
  • 7. Put the puffs on the baking sheet, lined with parchment paper, on a short distance from each other. Grease each puff with whipped egg and decorate with poppy.
  • 8. Bake cottage cheese puffs made of puff pastry in the oven pre-heated to 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes until golden shade.
  • 9. Cool the ready pastries to room temperature and serve with tea, coffee or milk.
  • 10. Bon Appetite!
