Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Let’s prepare an original potato side dish. Mashed potato with garlic and finely chopped dill is very tasty and fragrant. Such a dish will be an excellent side dish to baked meat or fried chicken. Gentle mashed potato is combined well with pickled mushrooms or marinated vegetables. To prepare mashed potato, choose kind of potatoes with high starch content. The volume of milk and the amount of butter can be adjusted according to your taste, depending on the consistence you want to receive.

    100 ml
  • Butter
    25 g
  • Garlic
    2-3 clove
  • Allspice

  • Bay leaf

  • Dill

  • 1. Wash the potatoes and peel. So that vegetables prepare faster, cut each potato into 2-4 parts.
  • 2. Transfer the cut potatoes into a pan of suitable size. Pour the vegetables with cold water so that they are completely covered with liquid. For aroma let’s add black allspice, bay leaf and dill stems to potatoes. Cover the pan with a lid and bring the vegetables to boil.
  • 3. When the water with potatoes boils, add salt to taste. Reduce the power of the cooking surface to a minimum and cook potatoes until soft. Then drain water from vegetables and add hot milk to the pan.
  • 4. After milk let’s add butter to potatoes, keep to the recipe of mashed potatoes with garlic.
  • 5. Mash the mixture of ingredients into homogeneous puree.
  • 6. Add black ground pepper and garlic cloves passed through the press to the mashed potatoes.
  • 7. To make mashed potatoes with garlic even tastier and more fragrant, let’s add finely chopped dill to it.
  • 8. Mix the mashed potatoes carefully so that all the ingredients are connected.
  • 9. Serve ready mashed potato with garlic hot as a side or main dish.
