Mushroom Pie

Pies became favorites on our tables long ago. It takes a little time to prepare them, and the necessary products are always at hand. Today I offer you a very tasty pie with mushrooms on kefir. To prepare it, you only need to mix all the ingredients for dough and fry champignons with onions for filling. Baking rises well in the oven and is soft and fluffy. Except champignons, oyster or forest mushrooms can be used to prepare the filling.

  • 1. First, let’s prepare a filling for pie. Wash fresh champignons and peel if necessary. Cut the mushrooms into small cubes. Peel onions and cut into small cubes.
  • 2. Put the crushed mushrooms in a frying pan with pre-heated vegetable oil. Stir periodically and fry champignons on medium heat until all the liquid evaporates from the frying pan.
  • 3. Then add onions to the mushrooms. Mix and continue to fry the ingredients together until the onions are ready.
  • 4. At the end of cooking, let's salt and season the filling with black ground pepper. Add finely cut dill, mix. As you can see, the recipe for the pie with mushrooms is very simple and fast.
  • 5. While the mushroom filling cools to room temperature, let’s prepare dough. In deep bowl, combine warm kefir and baking soda, thoroughly mix the mixture with a wire whisk.
  • 6. Add salt and sugar to the dough.
  • 7. Let's break 3 chicken eggs into the mixture.
  • 8. Add half of the sifted wheat flour into the dough.
  • 9. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until homogeneity with a wire whisk.
  • 10. Then add the remaining sifted wheat flour to the dough, mix thoroughly.
  • 11. Melt butter on a stovetop or in a microwave oven, cool a little and add it to the dough. Once again, mix everything thoroughly.
  • 12. Pour half of the ready dough into a heat-resistant baking ware.
  • 13. On top evenly distribute the finished mushroom filling.
  • 14. Let's pour the remaining dough on the filling. Decorate the cake with flax or sesame seeds.
  • 15. Send the ware with the pie to a pre-heated up to 180 degrees oven. Bake a pie with mushrooms in the oven, (step-by-step recipe is attached) at a medium heat for 35-40 minutes. Let's check the readiness of pastry with wooden skewer. It should come out of the pie dry, without any signs of dough.
  • 16. Cool the finished pie slightly in baking ware, cut into serving pieces and serve in a warm form.
