Fish Cutlets

Tasty and easy fish cutlet recipe can be prepared even from inexpensive white fish. For the recipe, fillet of hake, pollock, halibut or red-finned mullet is suitable. In addition to onions and chicken eggs, we will add oat flakes to fish mince. Thanks to this, the cutlets will be dense and will keep the form well, and still remain juicy and gentle. Wheat flour can be used instead of bread crumbs. If you want to prepare a dietary version of fish cutlets, transfer the blanks to a baking sheet and send them to an oven heated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Fish fillet
    350 g
  • Onion
    1 pcs
  • Egg
    1 pcs
  • Oat flakes
    2 tbsp
  • Bread crumbs
    100 g
  • Mayonnaise
    1 tbsp
  • Fish seasoning
    0.5 tsp
  • Vegetable oil
    100 ml
  • Dill
    30 g
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Black pepper
    - to taste



Steps

  • 1. Defrost the hake fillet or other white fish in advance and cut into small pieces. Put the fillet in the blender bowl. Add large-cut onions to the fish.
  • 2. Ground the ingredients with a blender until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Put fish mince in the deep bowl, add mayonnaise and one chicken egg.
  • 3. Next, add oat flakes to the mixture. Stir and leave the mince for 20 minutes so that the flakes swell.
  • 4. Then let’s add salt, seasonings and finely chopped dill to mince for hake cutlets.
  • 5. Once again, mix the mince thoroughly so that all the ingredients are combined.
  • 6. Wet hands in cold water and form small round fish cutlets from mince. Coat the blanks in bread crumbs.
  • 7. Put the cutlets in coating on a frying pan with pre-heated vegetable oil. Fry the cutlets on a medium heat to a golden crust on both sides. Place the ready-made cutlets on a plate covered with paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • 8. Prepare this fish cutlet recipe and serve them with mashed potatoes, rice or fresh vegetables.
