Fried Oyster Mushrooms

Mushrooms are always hearty, tasty and useful. They can be marinated, boiled, baked in an oven, stewed in a sauce or fried in oil. We will use the last variant of cooking today. Crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside oyster mushrooms are very tasty and fragrant. Similarly, champignons or shiitake can be prepared. Appetizing deep fried oyster mushrooms can be served on the festive table or taken with you on a picnic. Such mushroom can be an excellent snack for beer, so they are ideal for friendly sit-ins. Ingredients

  • Oyster mushroom
    300 g
  • Milk
    200 ml
  • Corn starch
    6 tbsp
  • Whole wheat flour
    4 tbsp
  • Egg
    1 pcs
  • Vegetable oil
    100 ml
  • Dried garlic
    0.25 tsp
  • Italian herb
    0.25 tsp
  • Salt
    - to taste



Steps

  • 1. Let’s cut off the rough part of the oyster mushrooms, carefully separating bunches into individual mushrooms. Thoroughly rinse the oyster mushrooms under cool running water.
  • 2. Cut large mushrooms into straws and leave small oyster mushrooms whole.
  • 3. Let’s make a batter. In deep bowl, combine corn starch (4 tbsp) and wheat flour in equal proportions. Add 1 yolk to the received mixture (we do not need egg whites for this recipe).
  • 4. Then let’s add salt and spices to the batter to taste, so that the pan fried oyster mushrooms, the recipe with the photos I offer you, become more fragrant.
  • 5. Stir constantly the batter with a wire whisk and add cold milk with a thin jet. Thoroughly mix the batter, achieving a homogeneous consistence.
  • 6. Coat the prepared oyster mushroom in the remained corn starch.
  • 7. Dip mushrooms into a thick batter so that the oyster mushrooms are completely covered with it (2 tbsp).
  • 8. Put oyster mushrooms in coating, the recipe of which I suggest to cook, in a heated with vegetable oil frying pan.
  • 9. Fry mushrooms on a medium heat to a golden tint on both sides.
  • 10. Transfer ready-made oyster mushrooms on a plate covered with paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve fried mushrooms with spicy tomato sauce.
