Today we will cook a simple home pastry which is easy to make and has been familiar to many of you since childhood. I like the combination of flavours in this cake that is sweet shortcrust with sour currant jam. It is incredibly delicious.
How to cook sweet shortcrust cake with currant jam
1.Mix finely room temperature butter, egg, milk,sugar and salt in one bowl.
2.Add flour and dough loosener and mix until smooth.I added 2 glasses of flour. The main thing is that your dough is elastic without sticking to your fingers. So, in case of sticky dough add more flour.
3.Divide the dough into two parts and put one of them into the fridge.
4.Now roll the second part of the dough and sprinkle it with some flour.
5.Butter the baking sheet and put a piece of baking paper to hang a bit over the edges of the sheet. This way the cake will be easier to remove.
6.Put rolled dough on the baking sheet and spread some jam over it.
7.Take another part of the dough from the freezer and grate it evenly over the baking sheet.
8.Prehead an oven to 200 and bake it until golden brown. It took me 20-25 minutes.
