Today we will cook a simple home pastry which is easy to make and has been familiar to many of you since childhood. I like the combination of flavours in this cake that is sweet shortcrust with sour currant jam. It is incredibly delicious.
6 servings

  • Whole wheat flour
    2 glass
  • Butter
    200 g
  • Egg
    1 pcs
  • Dough loosener
    2 tsp
  • Milk
    3 tbsp
  • Sugar
    4 tbsp
  • Salt
    1 pinch
  • Fruit jam
    - to taste

How to cook sweet shortcrust cake with currant jam

  • 1. Mix finely room temperature butter, egg, milk, sugar and salt in one bowl.
  • 2. Add flour and dough loosener and mix until smooth.I added 2 glasses of flour. The main thing is that your dough is elastic without sticking to your fingers. So, in case of sticky dough add more flour.
  • 3. Divide the dough into two parts and put one of them into the fridge.
  • 4. Now roll the second part of the dough and sprinkle it with some flour.
  • 5. Butter the baking sheet and put a piece of baking paper to hang a bit over the edges of the sheet. This way the cake will be easier to remove.
  • 6. Put rolled dough on the baking sheet and spread some jam over it.
  • 7. Take another part of the dough from the freezer and grate it evenly over the baking sheet.
  • 8. Prehead an oven to 200 and bake it until golden brown. It took me 20-25 minutes.
  • 9. Enjoy your meal!
