Wasabi Crackers

Improving the taste of delicious cheese crackers seems to be useless but possible! Just add wasabi! Crackers with cheese and wasabi pasta are salty enough, not spicy at all and taste and smell of “Japanese radish” which is so popular in Asian cuisine. After all you get a perfect snack.

How to cook Wasabi Crackers

  • 1. Prepare all ingredients.
  • 2. Combine wheat flour, salt and cold butter cut into cubes in a bowl.
  • 3. Mash all ingredients with your fingers to get crumbles with small pieces of butter. Grate some cheese finely.
  • 4. Combine cheese with butter and flour crumble. Mix wasabi and water until smooth and add to a bowl with cheese and crumble.
  • 5. Knead soft but not sticky dough. Don`t knead for long, just make all ingredients combine. Create dough flattened ball, wrap it in a cling film and put it into a fridge for 30-40 minutes.
  • 6. Preheat the oven to 180°C, and cover the big baking sheet with baking paper.

Roll the dough up to 3-4 cm and cut crackers the shape you want, spear them with a fork and place them on the baking sheet. Collect the remains from the dough and roll them again.
  • 7. Bake crackers in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they are ready. The cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of dough and your oven features.
  • 8. Ready crackers are crispy, cheesy and with slight wasabi flavour.
