This is a very tasty cabbage soup, which, in my opinion, is great for warming on cold winter days. It can be prepared for fast menu or on chicken or meat broth. There are many cabbage soup recipes, it all depends on the region and traditions. Often cabbage soup is prepared with sour cabbage or a combination of sour and fresh cabbage is used. Some hostesses season cabbage with crushed garlic and lard, add smoked meat to the soup and tomato paste. Today I propose to prepare another delicious version of fresh cabbage soup with millet. It turns out to be a very tasty and fragrant dish for the whole family.

  • Chicken broth

  • Carrot

Homemade Cabbage Soup


Steps

  • 1. Chop white cabbage into thin straws, transfer to a pan and pour with chicken broth. Cover the pan with a lid, put it on fire and bring it to a boil. After boiling, reduce the heat of the stove to a minimum and continue to cook cabbage until soft.
  • 2. Wash the potatoes, peel them, transfer them to a small saucepan, pour them with cold water. Let’s cook the potatoes until ready.
  • 3. Using a potato press, grind boiled vegetables in mashed potatoes.
  • 4. Peel onions and cut into cubes. Put the crushed vegetables in a frying pan with heated vegetable oil. Stir periodically and brown onions until a light golden brown, following the weight loss cabbage soup recipe.
  • 5. Wash carrots, peel them, grind them on a grater with a large cloth. Add grated carrots to browned onions. Stir and continue to fry the vegetables together over medium heat for another 2-3 minutes.
  • 6. Then add tomato paste to browned vegetables. Mix, let's simmer the ingredients together for 1 minutes.
  • 7. When the cabbage is cooked and soft, add washed millet to the vegetable soup with fresh cabbage.
  • 8. Next, add mashed potatoes to the soup.
  • 9. Add browned vegetables with tomato paste to the cabbage soup.
  • 10. Cover the pan with a lid, bring the soup to a boil. Boil a vegetable soup recipe with fresh cabbage on a low heat for another 5 minutes. At the end of the preparation, add salt, ground seasonings and finely chopped fresh dill.
