Tender Meatballs and Gravy

Meatballs gravy, a recipe with photos of which you can see on the screen, turn out to be very tasty, juicy and fragrant. At the same time, you get not only a tasty meat dish, but also an ideal sauce for mashed potatoes, pasta or other side dishes. To make the meatballs juicy and tender, it is best to cook them from mixed mince. Today I used pork and chicken fillet. Be sure to add onions to the mince, it will make homemade meatballs and gravy juicier and give a special aroma to the gravy in which the meatballs will simmer. Otherwise, the choice of spices remains with you. I used black ground pepper and ready-made seasoning for meat. Additionally, during the stewing, you can add a bay leaf and several peas of black allspice to the sauce.

Meatballs and Gravy


  • 1. Wash chicken fillet and pork, clean from fat and skins and cut into medium-sized pieces. Grind the meat into mince using a meat grinder or blender. Using the same method, let’s grind onions and add them to mince.
  • 2. So that the meatballs hold the form well, break 2 chicken eggs into mince. Add salt, spices and finely chopped dill for flavor.
  • 3. To make the meatballs and gravy juicy, add 1 tablespoon of sour cream to the mince.
  • 4. Thoroughly mix the ingredients, achieving a homogeneous mince consistency.
  • 5. Let’s form small meatballs of round or oval shapes from mince. Coat the products in wheat flour from both sides.
  • 6. Put the meatballs in a frying pan with heated vegetable oil.
  • 7. Fry the products on a medium heat to a golden crust on both sides.
  • 8. Prepare tomato-sour cream gravy. To do this, combine tomato paste, sour cream, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 0.5 tsp of salt and black ground pepper to taste.
  • 9. Pour the ingredients with hot water, mix until homogeneous. The gravy for the meatballs and gravy with pasta, the recipe for which I described to you in detail, is ready.
  • 10. In a wide pan or saucepan transfer fried meatballs. Fill them with hot gravy.
  • 11. Cover the ware with a lid and stew the meatballs in gravy on low heat for 15 minutes. At the end of cooking, add fresh dill.
  • 12. Serve juicy meatballs with gravy together with the side dish. Perfect for mashed potatoes, rice or pasta.
