Mushroom bites

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 mushrooms
  • 40g (1/3 cup) cornstarch
  • 40g (1/3 cup) flour
  • 120ml (½ cup) water
  • Salt and pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 50g (2 cups) cornflakes
  • Vegetable oil

METHOD

  1. Use king oyster mushrooms or another large type of mushroom. Cut the mushroom stems into several medium-sized slices.
  2. Pour corn flakes into an airtight bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  3. Mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and water in a separate bowl. Coat each mushroom slice with the flour mixture and then with the crushed cornflakes.
  4. Fry in vegetable oil until golden.
