Apple buns

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 apples
  • 60g (1/4 cup) of sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 60g of apricot jam
  • 1 roll of puff pastry

METHOD

  1. First, peel the apple, remove the core and cut it into slices, and then into cubes of about 1 cm per side.
  2. In a saucepan add the sugar and cinnamon and lemon juice. Cook for a few minutes over low heat, melt the sugar well, stirring occasionally.
  3. When it has melted, add the diced apple, add the apricot jam and mix everything letting the apple soften a little over low heat for a few minutes.
  4. Cut 6 squares of puff pastry, brush the edges with a little apple cooking liquid and place a couple of teaspoons of apple mixture on top.
  5. Close the buns in half by gently pressing the edges with your fingers. With a fork press on the side edges of the buns in order to seal them well.
  6. Bake in the oven at 220°C/428°F for 12 minutes.
