Parmesan Chive Biscuits

Parmesan Chive Biscuits

Parmesan chive biscuits are a savory and flavorful twist on traditional biscuits. They are perfect as a side dish for soups, stews, or as a delightful addition to any meal.

Parmesan chive biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped chives, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk. Gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be somewhat shaggy.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a rectangle about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
  6. Using a biscuit cutter or a round glass, cut out biscuits from the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  8. Optional: Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter immediately after removing them from the oven for added flavor and shine.
  9. Allow the Parmesan chive biscuits to cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy these biscuits warm with butter or alongside your favorite meals. The combination of Parmesan and chives adds a delicious savory flavor that makes these biscuits a delightful treat for any occasion.
