Acorn Squash

Acorn squash is a treat straight from the garden! This veggie has a delicious buttery orange interior and is so easy to prepare. All it takes are a few small steps and some time in the oven and voila! You’re going to love it!

Ingredients

β€’ 1 acorn squash
β€’ 2 tablespoon salted butter
β€’ 1-2 teaspoons sea salt and black pepper for savory
β€’ 2 tablespoons brown sugar for sweet
β€’ 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon for sweet

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and cut 1-inch off the stem of the squash. Place the cut side down and then cut in half.
  3. Using a spoon, scrape out the seeds. Criss Cross cut the flesh to help seasonings get further into the flesh,
  4. Rub with butter and sprinkle with either sweet or savory seasonings.
  5. Roast in oven, cut side up, for about 55-60 minutes based on the size. Flip over and let cool for just a bit. Will be done when fork tender.
