Cheeseburger Casserole

Loaded cheeseburger casserole is beefy, cheesy, and full of your favorite burger toppings! It is the ultimate quick and easy dinner that is sure to please even the pickiest eaters.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 - 2 pounds ground beef
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
• 1 medium white onion diced
• 2 tablespoons butter if using a lean meat
• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 8 ounces rotini pasta
• 4 cup beef broth
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• 1/4 cup ketchup
• 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 1/8 cup mustard
• 2 cups cheddar cheese to top
• 4 cups hamburger buns cubed up
• Dill pickles chopped, optional

Instructions

  1. Add ground beef to a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook until nearly browned, about 4-5 minutes. Add onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add in 2 tablespoons butter and let fully melt before adding in the flour. Stir until well mixed and let cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the pasta, beef broth, cream, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Simmer for about 8-9 minutes until noodles are al dente and sauce has thickened.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9x13 pan.
  5. Pour contents into the pan and place cubed buns across the top. Sprinkle with cheese and chopped pickles(optional).
  6. Bake in the preheated oven, uncovered, until cheese is warm and bubbly, about 15-20 minutes.
