Winter Black Forest Cake

Ingredients

* Kirsch (brandy) is not included in this recipe.
* Ideal results are obtained when using metric measurements.
*1 cup = 250 ml
*1 tbsp = 15 ml
*1 tsp = 5 ml

[For Chocolate cake] * 15 cm(6 inch) round pan

  • 3 eggs (room temperature)
  • 90 g granulated sugar (1/2 cup minus 1 Tbsp)
  • 80 g cake flour (2/3 cup + 1 Tbsp)
  • 15 g unsweetened cocoa powder (2 Tbsp)
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 15 g(1.5 Tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 25 g (2 Tbsp) warm milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract(optional) (*I skipped this.)
  • [cherry syrup]
  • 30 g (2 Tbsp) dark cherry juice(from canned cheery)
  • 10 g (1 Tbsp) granulated sugar
  • 10 g (1 Tbsp) hot water

[For Whipped Cream]

  • 400 g (1 + 2/3 cup) heavy whipping cream
  • 40 g (1/4 cup minus 1 Tbsp) granulated sugar
  • chocolate whipped cream : 50 g dark chocolate + 25 g milk

*Mix with 1/3 of the whipped cream.

[For garnish]
