Homemade toffee

INGREDIENTS

  • 400g (2 cups) sugar
  • 225g butter
  • 60ml (¼ cup) water
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt

METHOD

1. Mix sugar, butter, corn syrup, warm water, vanilla extract, and salt in a pot.

2. Turn on the heat and mix at a low temperature.

3. Continue mixing until you reach 145ºC (290ºF).

4. Pour into a tray with a silicone mat.

5. Let harden and break into pieces.
