Liquid Dough Donut

It sounds like you're interested in a recipe for a liquid doughnut or perhaps a doughnut batter that you can use to make doughnuts.

Doughnuts from a liquid batter

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a spoon or a piping bag, carefully drop portions of the liquid dough into the hot oil. You can shape them into small rounds or use a doughnut mold for a classic doughnut shape.
  6. Fry the doughnuts for 2-3 minutes per side or until they are golden brown. Make sure to flip them halfway through the cooking process.
  7. Using a slotted spoon, remove the doughnuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  8. Allow the doughnuts to cool slightly before glazing or coating them with powdered sugar.

Feel free to get creative with toppings or glazes. You can coat them in cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or dip them in a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and a little milk. Enjoy your homemade liquid doughnuts!
