Savory pastry cake with ham and potatoes


  • 2 sheets of puff pastry;
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled;
  • 150 g (¾ cup) cheese, sliced;
  • 100 g (4 slices) ham;
  • 5 g (2 tbsp) sliced scallions;
  • 30 g (2 tbsp) parmesan;
  • Salt and pepper to taste;
  • Egg wash.


1. In a medium bowl mash potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and combine with parmesan and scallions.

2. Place a sheet of puff pastry onto a parchment-covered baking sheet and spread potato filling on top evenly, leaving a small border on each side.

3. Top potato filling with ham and sliced mozzarella. Brush free edges with egg wash and layer another sheet of puff pastry on top. Pinch the edges of the pie and make small slits on top of it.

4. Brush the pies with egg wash and bake for 25 minutes at 180°C/350°F.
