Blackened Salmon with Creamy Cajun Sauce

Blackened salmon with creamy Cajun sauce is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines the spicy heat of Cajun seasoning with the rich creaminess of a sauce. Here's a recipe to guide you in making this tasty salmon dish:

Ingredients for Blackened Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Ingredients for Creamy Cajun Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle both sides of the salmon fillets with the Cajun seasoning, pressing it onto the flesh to ensure it adheres.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets, skin side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the skin is crispy and blackened. Flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning. Stir well to combine the ingredients. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Return the blackened salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning some of the creamy Cajun sauce over the top. Allow the salmon to heat through for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Transfer the salmon fillets to serving plates. Drizzle additional sauce over the top, if desired. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added freshness and presentation.
  7. Serve the blackened salmon with creamy Cajun sauce immediately and enjoy!

This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or roasted potatoes. The blackened salmon, seasoned with Cajun spices, combined with the creamy and spicy sauce creates a delightful flavor combination. It's a great dish to impress your guests or to enjoy as a special meal at home.
