Chocolate Granola Bar

Chocolate Granola Bar

Chocolate Granola Bars are delicious and nutritious snacks that combine the goodness of oats, nuts, and chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, peanuts), chopped
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats and chopped nuts.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter (or coconut oil) over low heat. Add the honey (or maple syrup) and brown sugar (if using), stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour the cocoa mixture over the oats and nuts. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly coated.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  7. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly using the back of a spoon or your hands to create an even layer.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow the granola bars to cool completely in the baking dish. This will help them set and hold their shape.
  10. Once cooled, lift the parchment paper (or use a spatula) to remove the whole slab of granola from the dish. Place it on a cutting board and cut into desired bar shapes and sizes.
  11. Store the chocolate granola bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate them for longer shelf life.

These homemade chocolate granola bars are perfect for a quick and tasty snack on the go or a treat anytime you're craving something sweet and crunchy. Enjoy!
