Orange fritters
Here is a recipe for delicious and easy-to-make orange fritters:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and orange zest.
- Add the orange juice, eggs, and melted butter to the bowl, and stir until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Using a tablespoon or a small cookie scoop, drop the batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Repeat with the remaining batter until all of the fritters are cooked.
- Dust the orange fritters with powdered sugar while they are still warm.
- Serve the fritters as a sweet treat for breakfast or dessert, and enjoy!
Note: You can also add other flavors to the fritters, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla extract, for a twist on the classic recipe.
