Banana Cake
Banana cake is a delicious dessert that is made using ripe bananas, flour, sugar, eggs, and other ingredients. Here is a simple recipe for making a classic banana cake:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray and set it aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the mashed bananas to the bowl and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the banana mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve the banana cake as is, or top it with your favorite frosting or whipped cream.
