Banana cake is a delicious dessert that is made using ripe bananas, flour, sugar, eggs, and other ingredients. Here is a simple recipe for making a classic banana cake:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the mashed bananas to the bowl and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the banana mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
