Sugar coated fritters

Sugar coated fritters

Sugar coated fritters are a sweet and delicious treat made with a simple batter that is deep-fried until crispy, then coated in a sweet sugar mixture. They are typically served as a dessert or a snack and are popular in many cultures around the world.

To make sugar coated fritters, you will need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large, deep saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown, turning occasionally, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove the fritters from the oil with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the warm fritters in the sugar mixture until they are completely coated.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Note: Be careful when working with hot oil, and always use caution when frying.
