Dahi Sandwich Recipe - 3 Ways Refreshing Snack
Dahi sandwich, also known as yogurt sandwich or curd sandwich, is a popular Indian dish that combines the tangy flavor of yogurt with various fillings. It is a simple yet delicious snack that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or as an evening snack. Here's a basic recipe for making a dahi sandwich:
Ingredients:
- Bread slices
- Thick yogurt (curd)
- Cucumber, grated or thinly sliced
- Tomato, thinly sliced
- Onion, thinly sliced
- Green chutney or mint chutney (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper powder to taste
- Chaat masala (optional)
- Butter or ghee for toasting the bread
Instructions:
- Take a bowl and whisk the yogurt (curd) until it becomes smooth and creamy. Add salt, black pepper powder, and chaat masala (if desired) to the yogurt and mix well. This will be the yogurt spread for the sandwich.
- Take two bread slices and spread butter or ghee on one side of each slice.
- On one slice, spread a layer of the yogurt mixture evenly.
- Place cucumber, tomato, and onion slices on top of the yogurt spread. You can also add some green chutney or mint chutney for extra flavor.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt, black pepper powder, and chaat masala (if desired) on the vegetable slices.
- Cover the sandwich with the other bread slice, buttered side facing outwards.
- Heat a griddle or sandwich maker and place the prepared sandwich on it. Toast the sandwich until the bread turns golden brown and crispy.
- Once the sandwich is toasted, remove it from the griddle and let it cool for a minute.
- Cut the sandwich diagonally into two halves or into smaller pieces if desired.
- Serve the dahi sandwich as a snack or with ketchup or chutney of your choice.
