Salted caramel: how to make it thick and delicious at home

Ingredients
- 200ml (4/5 cup) fresh liquid cream
- 270g (1 1/3 cups) sugar
- 130g cold butter
- 10g (1/2 tbsp) salt

Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
Instructions:
- Heat the sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar has melted and turned a deep amber color.
- Add the butter to the pan and stir until it has completely melted and mixed with the caramel.
- Remove the pan from heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring constantly. Be careful as the mixture may bubble up.
- Stir in the sea salt until it is evenly distributed throughout the caramel sauce.
- Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a jar or container. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
You can serve this salted caramel sauce over ice cream, cake, or any other dessert that you like. Enjoy!
