Salted caramel: how to make it thick and delicious at home

Ingredients

  • 200ml (4/5 cup) fresh liquid cream
  • 270g (1 1/3 cups) sugar
  • 130g cold butter
  • 10g (1/2 tbsp) salt

Recipe 2:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar has melted and turned a deep amber color.
  2. Add the butter to the pan and stir until it has completely melted and mixed with the caramel.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring constantly. Be careful as the mixture may bubble up.
  4. Stir in the sea salt until it is evenly distributed throughout the caramel sauce.
  5. Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a jar or container. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

You can serve this salted caramel sauce over ice cream, cake, or any other dessert that you like. Enjoy!
