Veg Masala Grill Sandwich

Veg Masala Grill Sandwich is a popular Indian street food that features a flavorful filling of vegetables and spices, sandwiched between slices of bread and grilled to perfection. It's a delicious and satisfying snack that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or as an evening snack.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1 large potato, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (such as carrots, peas, corn), boiled and finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup capsicum (bell pepper), finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional, for added spice)
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter or ghee for grilling the sandwiches
  • Mint chutney and tomato ketchup for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potato, chopped mixed vegetables, onion, tomato, capsicum, green chilies, cumin powder, chaat masala, red chili powder (if using), and salt. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  2. Take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the vegetable filling on one slice. Make sure the filling is evenly spread.
  3. Place the other bread slice on top and gently press it down to form a sandwich.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and vegetable filling to make more sandwiches.
  5. Heat a grill pan or a sandwich maker.
  6. Spread some butter or ghee on the outer side of the sandwiches.
  7. Place the sandwiches on the preheated grill pan or sandwich maker and grill them for a few minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the grilled sandwiches from the pan or sandwich maker and cut them into halves or quarters.
  9. Serve the Veg Masala Grill Sandwich hot with mint chutney and tomato ketchup on the side.
