Healthy Gur Ka Sharbat

Healthy Gur Ka Sharbat

Gur ka Sharbat, also known as Jaggery Lemonade, is a healthy and refreshing drink made with jaggery (gur), lemon juice, and water. Here's a recipe to make this delightful and nutritious sharbat:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup grated jaggery (gur)
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon black salt (kala namak) or regular salt (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, add the grated jaggery and 1 cup of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the jaggery dissolves completely. This will create a jaggery syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the jaggery syrup, lemon juice, and remaining water. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.
  3. Add black salt or regular salt to the pitcher and give it a good stir. Taste and adjust the salt and lemon juice according to your preference.
  4. Chill the Gur ka Sharbat in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, stir the sharbat well. If desired, you can add ice cubes to the pitcher or serve the sharbat over ice in individual glasses.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a burst of freshness.

Enjoy the Healthy Gur ka Sharbat as a nutritious and natural alternative to sugary beverages. The combination of jaggery and lemon creates a delightful balance of flavors, making it a perfect summer drink.
