  • 4 cups thinly sliced Napa or green cabbage
  • 2 cups thinly sliced red cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded or matchstick carrots
  • 2 cups pre cooked and shredded or cubed chicken
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds
  • 1 cup drained mandarin oranges in water
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 3/4 cup won ton strips or chow mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds


  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 teaspoons freshly minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pepper


  1. Prepare the dressing by combining soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, toasted sesame oil, crushed garlic, minced ginger, sugar, and pepper in a small bowl. Whisk until well combined.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine thinly sliced Napa cabbage, shredded carrots, sliced green onions, and cooked chicken.
  3. Add drained mandarin oranges and cilantro to the bowl and toss all the ingredients together.
  4. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss everything together until the dressing is evenly distributed.
  5. Top the salad with won ton strips or chow mein noodles and sesame seeds just before serving.
