Chicken Malai Tikka Restaurant Style
Chicken Malai Tikka is a popular and delicious dish known for its creamy and flavorful marinade. Here's a recipe to make restaurant-style Chicken Malai Tikka:
Ingredients:
- 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup hung curd (thick yogurt)
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 2 tablespoons grated cheese (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cashew nut paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine hung curd, fresh cream, grated cheese (if using), cashew nut paste, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, white pepper powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cardamom powder, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them well. Make sure each piece is covered with the marinade. Marinate the chicken for at least 2-3 hours, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator. This helps the flavors to infuse and makes the chicken tender.
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using a grill, preheat it and grease the grates to prevent sticking. If using an oven, preheat it to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers. If using wooden skewers, make sure to soak them in water for about 20 minutes beforehand to prevent them from burning.
- Place the chicken skewers on the preheated grill or on the prepared baking sheet if using the oven.
- Cook the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, turning them occasionally, until they are cooked through and have a slightly charred and golden exterior. Make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly to ensure food safety.
- Brush the cooked chicken with melted butter for added richness and flavor.
- Garnish the Chicken Malai Tikka with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve the Chicken Malai Tikka hot as an appetizer or as a part of a main course. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the tikka just before serving for a tangy twist.
Chicken Malai Tikka is a mouthwatering dish that can be enjoyed with mint chutney, onion rings, or naan bread. It is a perfect addition to any special occasion or gathering.
