Cake Pudding

Cake Pudding

Cake pudding is a delicious and comforting dessert that combines the flavors of cake and pudding. It's a great way to use up leftover cake or transform stale cake into a new dessert. Here's a basic recipe for cake pudding:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups crumbled cake (any flavor of your choice)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or individual ramekins with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it begins to steam. Do not let it come to a boil. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon (if using) until well combined.
  4. Gradually pour the steamed milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from curdling.
  5. Add the crumbled cake to the milk and egg mixture, gently folding it in until all the cake pieces are evenly coated.
  6. Pour the cake mixture into the greased baking dish or individual ramekins.
  7. Place the baking dish or ramekins in a larger baking pan. Fill the larger pan with hot water to create a water bath, ensuring the water reaches about halfway up the sides of the baking dish or ramekins.
  8. Carefully transfer the water bath with the cake pudding to the preheated oven.
  9. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top. The baking time may vary depending on the size of your baking dish or ramekins.
  10. Remove the cake pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  11. Optionally, you can top the cake pudding with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for added indulgence.

Cake pudding is a comforting and versatile dessert that can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of toppings. Feel free to get creative by adding fruits, nuts, or spices to the pudding mixture before baking. Enjoy the warm and comforting flavors of cake pudding!
