Crispy Smash Burger Taco Recipe
A recipe for a delicious Crispy Smash Burger Taco:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomato
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Divide the meat mixture into eight equal portions and shape them into small, flat patties.
- Heat up a cast-iron skillet or griddle over high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet and let it heat up until it starts to shimmer.
- Place the patties on the skillet and use a spatula to smash them down until they are very thin. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until crispy and browned.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside.
- In a separate skillet, heat up vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the corn tortillas one at a time until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, and pickle relish. Mix well to make the sauce.
- To assemble the tacos, place a fried tortilla on a plate. Add a crispy beef patty on top of the tortilla, followed by shredded lettuce, diced tomato, diced onion, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Drizzle the sauce over the top of each taco and serve immediately.
