Strawberry Syrup

A recipe for Strawberry Syrup:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine diced strawberries, granulated sugar, and water. Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the strawberries are soft and the liquid has thickened into a syrup consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a clean jar or bottle.
- Add lemon juice to the jar or bottle and stir to combine.
- Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
