Strawberry Syrup

A recipe for Strawberry Syrup:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine diced strawberries, granulated sugar, and water. Stir to combine.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the strawberries are soft and the liquid has thickened into a syrup consistency.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  5. Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a clean jar or bottle.
  6. Add lemon juice to the jar or bottle and stir to combine.
  7. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
