Eid Special Creamy Suji Phirni Recipe
Creamy Suji Phirni is a delicious and creamy dessert that is perfect for any special occasion, especially Eid. Here's a recipe to make it at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup semolina (suji)
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews), for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large heavy-bottomed pot, toast the semolina over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until fragrant and lightly golden. Stir frequently to avoid burning.
- Add the milk to the pot and stir well to combine.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the mixture for about 20-25 minutes or until the semolina is fully cooked and the mixture has thickened.
- Add the heavy cream, sugar, and cardamom powder to the pot and stir well to combine.
- Continue to cook the mixture for another 5-10 minutes or until it has thickened to a pudding-like consistency.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the phirni cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the phirni to a serving dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours or until fully set.
- Before serving, garnish the phirni with chopped nuts and enjoy!
